Watch the X-Men get parodied in Epic Movie, which is now in theaters! TV commercials for the film have revealed that Carmen Electra is playing Mystique! Rogue, Magneto, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm also make an appearance in the superhero spoof comedy directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.
X-Men: The Last Stand unfortunately was not nominated for Makeup or Visual Effects in the 79th Annual Academy Awards. Films that won the nominations for those categories were:
Makeup: Apocalypto, Click, and Pan’s Labyrinth.
Visual Effects: Pirates2, Poseidon, and Superman Returns.
IGN recently talked with X-Men franchise star Rebecca Romijn, who was doing promo for her new gig on tv’s Ugly Betty (good show!). When asked if she would return as Mystique for an X-Men 4, the actress said:
“Yeah, sure. We’ll see if they decide to do any more. I actually don’t know what they’re planning to do with it. I was signed on for three [movies], so my stint is more or less done at this point.” But how would Mystique return, after getting de-powered? “Well, you know, they can always turn these things back around!” said Romijn. ”It’s not like I was dead or anything.”

“I had no idea you guys loved Storm so much! Wow, thank you, thank you. I want to thank Tom Rothman for allowing me to play Storm, and Brett Ratner for allowing Storm to finally use her cape and fly this year.” said Halle Berry at yesterday’s People’s Choice Awards.
“But I have something to ask you guys. You guys really love X-Men? Ok, here’s what you have to do. Write letters. Every one of you in this building who love X-Men and want to see X-Men 4, write a letter to Tom Rothman at Fox and tell him so and you will get another one, and I’ll be there too.”

Update: Halle took home the award for ‘Favorite Female Action Star’. When accepting her award, Halle thanked both Brett Ratner and Tom Rothman for giving Storm more to do and letting her fly. She also told fans of the X-MEN films to write Fox (specifically Tom Rothman) and ask for an X4! The actress said if they make one “I’ll be there!” Congrats, Halle!
The actress is also nominated for two awards: ‘Best Female Movie Star’ and ‘Favorite Female Action Star’! And guess what? X-Men: The Last Stand is also up for ‘Favorite Movie’ and ‘Favorite Movie Drama’!
